We have just started a rehabilitation / correctional center for s young people (15-23 years old) the center is located within Biomet County. This dream came as a result of real experiences in the field where we identified a gap through our services provision in schools and Colleges. we realized that some parents and teachers have given upon on those children who have abused drugs /alcohol or have become rebellious. For some, they are chased away from school because the Administration can no longer stand their behavior. The parents’ then keep transferring them from one school to another, most of them end up even not completing their studies. The resource spent on school fees becomes a waste and they journey of burdensome life begins for both the parents, relatives and the community at large and by extension meaningless life for that child. Most parents finally give up on them and prefer taking them to police station which is actually the wrong place for them and will not bring a lasting solution.
There is need to address the problem from the root cause at an early stage mitigate on future challenges. Our Program is friendly and transformative. The center is strictly meant for the young people We realized that if a student is under influence and not sober, the entire program we are talking about will not materialize.
At the correctional Centre, The correctional /treatment period differs from an individual to the other basing on the examination results, but generally it ranges from 1-2 months
